Eco friendly Paint without VOCs

The cynic in me thinks that manufacturers can probably get $10.00 more a gallon with the picture of the baby on the front of the paint can. But, the realist in me remembers the paint fumes when we painted our apartment last fall and the headaches I endured!! I would welcome paint without VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) as a healthy eco friendly alternative.
$45.00 a can at Mother Earth Nursery Design
Comes in 8 different colors.

As a note, all supposedly zero VOC’s paints are still allowed a certain part per million of VOC’s in the gallon. And that is just for the untinted gallon, it does not include any tint that is added. Since almost all paint companies across North America use VOC tints, the darker the color, the more VOC’s.

That’s helpful info. Thanks for letting me know. If anyone has tried this, paint, please chime in!!

I used VOC free paint in our baby’s room and most of the house, but that’s only the white. The tints that I could find all have VOC’s. It’s certainly better than the alternative, though!
(We used the Cloverdale Paints kind, called Horizon.)

dont believe the hype. sorry but older paint products were very bad for you. they studied them for many many years before people realised that.
these new products claim to be safe as drinking water. this is not the right kind of attitude to have towards a can filled with chemicals.i worked in this industry for many years and there is always someone trying to market the ultimate safe paint. they might smell less but outgassing chemicals are very bad for you.
thermo plasitcs and polymeric resins are not super safe nor are they really studied for such a long time to know the actual long term effects.
